We’ve all met them. That one person that just exudes that cool vibe. Perfect hair, perfect clothes, perfect personality. Everyone you know has a crush on them, yourself included. You just watch from afar thinking about how great their life must be, you start wondering what it would be like to have them in your life, but the thought of you actually going up to them and talking to them makes you so nervous. Some days you see them around and you tell yourself, “Today is the day I talk to them.” only to have that moment leave as quickly as it came. You start to think about what kind of friends they have or the people they date, and you look at yourself and say “Well, I’m not that type of person, I’m just me.” You get the chance to talk to them and you get so nervous and self-conscious that you end up saying something weird or awkward and leave the conversation feeling like a complete idiot. You wonder if that person has ever thought of you the way you’ve thought of them and you lay awake at night wishing and hoping that you’re the one they would want to be with. But in the end, you just settle for being just a friend.
